I have bought one. If you don't need onboard wifi, I would go with the Asrock offering. Basically, it is worth it if you can afford 3-4k on a single GPU system, otherwise probably not.

basically its comes down to the features that the deluxe offers over the others. would you have use for those additional features or not, if not then it might not be worth it.

The nice thing about the Deluxe boards is the superior 16+4 power delivery over other boards so you have rock solid voltage for over clocking. Ivy is not nearly as reliant on power delivery as previous chips, so I would say the one big thing the Deluxe has going for it is not important for an Ivy system. I own older Asus Deluxe boards and love them, but for my new Ivy build I stepped back/over to the Sabertooth board. I could have saved more money still from the Sabertooth, but really liked the thermal armor.

There was a Z77 Deluxe in the FS/FT boards last week for $100 less than the egg that I almost pulled the trigger on, but ultimately ended up with a new Sabertooth. If it is still there, it is a steal!

It does have a PLX chip (does NOT add PCI-E lanes) to handle automatic bandwidth control for PCI-E. Not sure if other boards have that feature.

There's really no way for anyone to answer that question without a whole heck of a lot more information about what you're building the computer for and how much you can afford to spend.

That said, $300 for a motherboard in a standard machine is just about never worth it.

Why don't you get the PRO instead of the Deluxe or even the ASrock offerings like mentioned by others. No need to spend that much, even a $50 savings from the Deluxe to PRO can be put to other uses in your build.

I've always had a habit of buying the Deluxe version and have done that going back many years. This time around I went with the Deluxe version again, but found that I'm barely using any of the features. I really wish I went with a cheaper option.
