Does anyone have personal experience with this motherboard and an E4300? Is it easy to overclock? And does anyone also know if the cpu cooler will keep it at a good temperature? If i'm right, i have to increase FSB by 10 and check with orthos for a few hours, then keep going right? Won't it take ages to reach 333 FSB then or am i making a mistake?

Yes.

OCing should be done in steps, but you can sometimes jump up in larger ones till you get past 3 GHz usually.

You will not need an aftermarket HSF to overclock the E4300 to 3 GHz. The stock intel is fine and also quiet. Normal practice is likely to incease by 25, until you lock up, and then by 5 after that. When you can get the PC to POST, and run Windows, then consider backing off some and running a long term test. Otherwise it may be time to upgrade to a new processor before you get this one tested!

Check out the settings at the link below. You may want to save some time and use these, except starting at about 2.8 GHz, and work your way up. You should get 3.0 with these settings, and possibly even back some of the voltages off some.

I just ordered a P5b-E last week from Newegg. I got the revision 1.01 G which limit my VDimm to 2.1 so no Micron D9 for me. See my review at the egg.

This is the second one in the last 6 mos that I have the old stock.

If you want to OC then your best memory is the G. Skill PK or HK with this board.

They're still passing out the 1.01G! That's one reason I've waited this long (well, that and waiting for E4300 prices to drop).

It is retarded how much 1.01g stock is out there, the 1.02g was reviewed/announced back in September 06 I think, here we are 7 months later and the old version is still being sold, what the hell is going on.
