Hey guys,
I was really close of purchasing the Asus N550 with the 750m gfx card
But was told that I should wait till the N550JK version comes out (with 850m gfx)

Is it worth the wait? Is there a estimated time release on it? When I called Asus they told me June, but the guy didnt sound confident
Also what else is new with it? Is it just the gfx?

Thanks

In my country the N550JK is already available. I think it worth waiting since the video card is around 60% faster.

The wifi/bluetooth adapter is upgraded to IEEE 802.11ac (Intel vs Atheros) which is future proof.

Another thing - N550JV was shipping with 4+4GB of ram while, now you have single 8GB memory (and one free slot), so you can upgrade it easily by adding one more 8GB tile later.

Locally (we have limited availability of model's variants) you could buy N550JV only with 5400 rpm hdd, while the N550JK is shipped with 7200 rpm (but that is only a local market issue here).

Given that the 850M is nearly twice the perf of a 750M for basically same power consumption, i say it'll worth the wait. I have a N550JV and love it. I'm not gaming that much anyway, but 850M is neat if you are. That said, it's a little more expensive.
