Title pretty much sums it up. Is the $20 Antec Basic BP-350B a good enough PSU for a basic non-gaming (i.e. low-end graphics card at best), internet surfing, office work, movie watching, general use pc? Let's say a C2D or X2 and medium overclocking at most.

Is it stable? Does it deliver the 12V1@10A,+12V2@13A, combined 12V max load 276W= 23A that it promises on the label (and at what temperature, I know, I know...) ?

I know the Earthwatts EA430 is better and goes on sale a lot (right now it's at $35 AR FS on Newegg), but I'd like to know about this Basiq. Thanx.

Cool! Nice to know you can get something decent for a mere $20 (plus ship, bit I'm sure it'll go on sale from time to time).

Any other opinions? Any reviews out there (Jonny?) ?

Bringing up an old post here, but this is now on sale for 9 +10 shipping. Would this be strong enough to power everything in my sig? I have a decent PSU now (I think) but am looking for something efficient that would use less power. I originally speced my machine for gaming, but bought a 360 for that. This is now a website surfer/media player. Don't really know if spending $20 to save money is really worth it so that's what I'm trying to figure out. Thanks!

EDIT: I also plan on buying a 500GB Seagate 7200.11 HDD to condense everything as well. Only 75 bucks at the egg.

Going from two HDDs to one will probably save more power than going to a more efficient PSU. You have an original TruePower? I'd be more concerned with capacitors in that thing and less about efficiency. Besides, the Basiq isn't even 80+ certified. Yes, I just checked at Antec's site... which I noticed has gotten revamped, complete with broken links.

If you want something dirt cheap, you're probably better off waiting for an EarthWatts deal. Alternately, check in the For Sale/Trade forum to see if someone's selling off a 380W for cheap. Those are bundled with a number of Antec cases (NSK2480, NSK3480, NSK4480) and someone may have upgraded to a higher wattage and put the 380W up for sale. I've done it. (before you ask, yes it sold so I no longer have it)
