Is the anonymizer service worth it?

You are confusing two different things.

Zonealarm is a Firewall.

www. anonymizer.com, is an "Anonymity" service.

If you use them, their IP comes on as your IP. Thus when you go to a "NO NO" site the site log does not register your IP but it gets the service IP, hence "Anonymizer".

just go to www.grc.com and find the ShieldsUp! analyzer. That will tell if you are secure, most modern routers stealth all the ports with the exception of Port 113 on some models. My router blocks all the ports and I directed Port 113 to a non-existent network address rendering it "stealth". 🙂

Listen, I am not confusing the two. I was refering to zonealarm pros ability to block cookies, pop ups, and private headers, not its firewall capabilities.

I have also visitied GRC and I am completley secure

What I was really asking I guess, is if the anonymizer actually WORKS. is your IP really held private? I cant test it because their stupid free service wont load any of the IP detection pages.
