Is the Abit NF7-S still one of the best boards for AMD chips?

I am upgrading my board, chip and memory. I plan on getting the Abit NF7-S board, the AMD XP2600+ and 512MB DDR PC3200 memory. Does this sound like a decent configuration? I was told the Abit NF7-S is pretty much the best board out there, is this true?

After looking around that is what I went with. I have 2 slabs of PC3200 and a Athlon 1700+ overclocked. Set the FSB to 166Mhz and played with the multiplier. I also use the onboard sound (GREAT) and ethernet.

It's my mainboard of choice right now. My NF7-S ver 2.0 runs my Barton at 2.3 Ghz at default voltage without a sweat. Will probably go higher, (I am only running at 200 fsb), but I'm more than happy with how fast and stable it is. Haven't tried the SATA yet but plan to this Fall. My next board will have to be one hell of a board to replace this one.

Why would you only run at 166 or 200 FSB.....the board can support up to 400 FSB and the XP2600+ processor supports a 333 FSB. Can you explain your reasoning?

200 mhz the is dual pumped so it is actually running at 400 mhz fsb. like the p4 800 mhz chips: they are actually running at 200 mhz pumped 4 times=800 mhz

400 mhz= 200 dual pumped
333 mhz = 166 mhz dual pumped
266 mhz = 133 mhz dual pumped

btw, in my opinion, the NF7-s is THE BEST socket A mobo
