Is the 9800GX2 compatible with older games?

I am thinking of buying a 9800GX2 but one concern I have is if it supports all the older games from 2003-2007 etc. I play alot of older games as well as alot of the new ones.

Will the 9800GX2 be able to play these old games that dont support the card or will they just not owrk at all?

Some already have profiles, but for the really old games you only need to run 1 of the gpu's anyway. If it doesn't support SLI the GX2 will still run as a single 8800GTS 512. There are options in the drivers also to force one of the SLI modes to enable both cards. You can save all the settings in the driver too so you won't have to switch modes everytime you play each game.
