I was considering the 8rda+ or the soltek nv400

I dont want a dual channel board because I dont have the RAM to use one, and the anandtech review is excellent for the soltek

Great board. great overclocker. And you cant beat the price. I have one and I am running a 1700+ TbredB @ 2325 (12.5*186). Cant beat it.

Are you using the stock passive heatsink for the northbridge? Or did you install a small heatsink/fan combo to cool the northbridge?

A7N8X-X is single channel (not too important) but look at the feature set and decide if it's a good choice for you. It's missing a lot of stuff, IMHO.

It likes my 1700+, i think it will like the Barton just as well...

The NF7-S would be good choice if you want a few more features.

Probably the best performance/cost, but not as feature-rich as the NF7-S (more expensive)

Where can I still get an 8RDA+ ?

Newegg dropped it recently ( shocker )

But Mwave still got a few...

that is a shocker they just released rev 2.0 of this board... it should have been selling plenty well, and I'm damn sure it's still in production, unless the AMD 64 is scarring people from selling nforce 2 boards.

Nope, Newegg isn't carrying the 8RDA+ anymore...too bad, I had my eye set on this NForce2 board for a while now, don't know what i'll replace it with now?

Well at this point I am leaning heavily toward the Soltek. It doesnt offer dual channel, but if you look at anands review it easily keeps up with and sometimes surpasses dual channel.

I dont care about soundstorm or fireware since I have an Audigy 2, just good OC options. The board even offers a 12v power connector (I think its the little one that is 12 right?) like a P4 to support better CPU voltage stability. Now that the 8rda is gone im thinking this little gem is the way to go.

Well, I decided againts the 8RDA+ in favor of the newer Soltek

The board is underated imho and no one talks about it, however it got excellent reviews from both anandtech and amdmb, and it's crazy how much it has been ignored.

If I like it ill post around here
