Is the 7800 GT pipemoddable?

I know with a 6800 you could use rivatuner to activate the missing pipes, can that be done for a 7800 GT?

Apparently the other 4 pipes are physically disabled, which at least for me says that its not possible.

Any breakings news and I'd love to hear it... but that's the scoop I know anyways.

yup the answer is no. looks like nvidia has learned their mistake with the 6800nu agp and the early 6200 revisions which can be modded into a full fledged 6600

i dont know why Nvidia really bothered.
I couldent think of how much they would loose in GTX sales but i know they would convince more and more people to buy one.
Heck. even a I might have been interested. but as it turns out i am not.
I am more interested in the X1800XL and which models can reach XT speeds (core only)
There are hopes in the 7800GS having some sort of modability. when that comes out then please come back and ask the same question.

They shoulda left the option open. They would have won a lot more mindshare, more than enough to make up for lost GTX sales.
