Is the 700Mhz, 32Piped, 90nu, G71 the same thing thats going in the PS3 RSX GPU

about, but not quite. its not a completely different achitecture, but there are some differences. since its a console GPU they dont have to worry about compatibility and optimize it for the console.

if its comparable to anything it'll be the G70 chip, only then on 90nm. but truthfully, it really has no comparison since its made specificly for the PS3.

true

since everyone buying a PS3 will have the same hardware, they will be able to optimize things a great deal more than they do with PC games, where they have to try n optimize it for a wide range of hard ware combo's

I read on some site the PS3 will be $500. Not sure how many will buy it though. That's starting to get into Elite gaming or "rich only" gaming. Doesn't seem like they build them for kids anymore. Unless they are trying to break the kid's family's bank.

The Playstation has always been aimed at the Adult market so i think that they will easily find a market at that price, only if the product is good though. This could also mean that the first batch are all limited. Also on that article it does state about the BlueRay drive, which could be a killer for Sony, no matter how bad the rest of the product is, Worked for the PS2, I bought one because it had the added DVD drive, which was quite the format revolution at the time.

lol... no way ! it would be overkill for sony cost production. Sony has been bebugging its unit because :
1. chaep bulray drive they are going to use is buggy and disk read error will be main issue
2. cooling system
3. All the features sony promised is going to kill sony if they launch this year in mass number (cost wise) : Bluray , g70 gpu , bluetooth , wifi g , 256 xrd ram , 256mb ddr 3 , 3.2ghz cell sep 7 cpu , 3 gigabit ethernet port ...
4. Software developer are having hard time developing games on ps3 and its costing crap loads of all the new skill they have to learn and multithreaded programming ain't easy.

Sony will tell you its coming out this year and its supper powerful like they with did PS2 to kill off Dream cast before the ps2 even came out. Sony is nothing without Final fantasy , Devil may cry , GT , Gundam (very famous in japan (bandi is like ea version in japan) , Metal gear solid and other title from such developer team like Square enix , Konami , sega.



I think Nin rev will outsell them all ... something is telling because after looking at report of DS... It tells me people want a big change because when DS came out, i was like "its going downhill" but all crazy title that came out and used all DS CRazy funtion were big hit world wide. also currently ds is like sold out in japan and it beat sales of PSP+PS2 in dec alone. All nintendo has to do is add more crazy crazy features to Rev and get some developing team to make some crazy titles. I still can't believe that PSP has not one awesome title since Burnout legend (RPG/TBR is totally dire). I have owned a psp since dec 2004 and i have only so far liked 3 games : Luminess , Burnout Legend and remade packman. I have watched more viewo content on my psp than played on it. DS i bought arround 2005 August and i have loved : advance war dual strike , animal crossing . mario cart , Mario & Luigi Partners in Time , Meteos, Phoenix Wright , Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow. also i have few crazy game on DS. DS will also hit 20million mark by early 2007 which will be more sold than Gamecube.

XBOX 360 is going the right path with its live servers. xbox Live is the best online server i have seen ever. I am starting to see really good classical game came out in redone HD graphic and the list of good is growing larger. like i don't mind paying $5 for game like Street Fighter 2 , Smash TV , Hexic HD , Geometry Wars. All these game have to be in HD and online enable so i wouldn't mind playing street fighter 2 with pal.

Now i want sony to bring something like that out... i don't care about Blu-ray , G71 GPU , crazy Cell processor. Sony just need to rethink what it is doing.

I do think it will out perform the 360, but at what cost? By the time this comes out , it may be better just to go with XBOX. Altho the PS3 looks damned sweeeet!
