I work on Ubuntu primarily though I do like to play games once in a great while so I boot up my windows xp partition occasionally. I do a lot of scripting, c++ builds etc so I have multiple small windows open with different tasks running. I have both of my 2407's positioned vertically next to each other saving space on my desk.
I like this configuration for the most part except when the OS boots and I have to tilt my head to read whatever is written. It can be painful at times when you're adjusting stuff in the bios or perhaps installing another OS. The other problem I see is when I try to watch a video and expand it across the 2 screen. The divide between the screens is really annoying but presumably it would be more practical to watch it from afar back. Having the video run in a single vertical monitor makes the picture look 'squeezed' and is not very practical at all.
So my question is whether having a single 3007wfp monitor would allow me to have enough desktop area to launch session windows to do my stuff. I know that having 2 24" monitors has more area to work with but in your opinion would I lose a lot of real estate by switching? Having a single monitor would however definitely ease my dilemma.
