Is the 23" Apple LCD monitor a relatively good deal?

So, what are my options for a very large LCD? I have my computer in the living room and want it to double as a screen to watch the odd movie on. I'd like the 30" model, but my video card can't drive it and $2700 is alot of cash for a screen.

Would I be better off with a 42" plasma as a dedicated movie screen? I'm currently running a 17" LCD and would use a computer screen *much* more.

Dell.ca has a 10 days of sales event every 6 weeks or so. The last two times, they had the 2405FPW for $989 and $997.

How big is the 2405? I hear the 25XX model is better.

Eh? The 2405FPW is a 24" widescreen using a Samsung panel with a resolution 1920x1200, has 4 USB ports, a 9-in-1 card reader, DVI/VGA/Component/S-Video/Composite inputs. There's no 25xx model in Dell's lineup.

Dell LCD sale is definitely the way to go. Never knew the 2005FPW was also the Apple LCD panel as well. Amazing the markup Steve puts on those.
