Is the .22 caliber even close to being adaquate for self defense use?

That is part of my point, plus the fact that just owning the firearm makes you invincible and sends all would be assailants running.

Most that own firearms will never have to use them in self-defense. There are many that need to do so regularly.

Are you saying a .22 is all you need?
