For TT's money, you sure can buy a whole lot, I mean, A WHOLE LOT, of other cars that are either much better looking, faster, perform better, more luxurious, and for less or all of the aforementioned.

So, you either are fucking clueless about cars, or just a giant idiot with more money than brain.

Sssnail's laws govern all.

just because the TT does not appeal to YOU doesn't mean it does not appeal to others.

why buy a BMW M3 when a mustang GT can hang with it for tens of thousands less, and a GT500 will no doubt destroy it?

A Mustang "hangs" with an M3 in what sense? Total package? Or you're just talking about objective and abject "lap times"? If the latter, then there are many cars that matches the M3's lap times. And?

Let's get real here, shall we?

Like I said, the TT would appeal to the same crowd that gravitate to Apple's products.

I think I am going to point out what was the intention of Jules' thread.

He merely observed or participated in an event where someone thought their nice car could beat the pants out of a sport bike.

For 99.9% of the time, a literbike will smoke a car. Exceptions being the best of supercars, or heavily modified streetcars.

A ton of people are ignorant of that. It's funny when you actually witness it. Or participate in it.

It doesn't matter if it's an Audi, BMW, Mustang, Corvette, blah blah blah.

And assuming, it is a car that can pull 10's and 11's. It better be one of hell of a launch. No VHT, no waterboxes, no tarmac with tons of rubber laid down, etc.

Not that this is what happened to Jules, but one of the things I hated about having a fast(ish) car was that people assumed you were racing just because you took off hard from a stop light.

I had an LS1 Z28 that would do mid 12's, and sometimes it was just plain fun to stomp on the gas. Other times I was just in a hurry to get somewhere.

I don't have this issues with the RX-8. I can run it up to 9K at WOT and the V6 Camry beside me is none the wiser.

I've seen more RX-8's in Florida than I've seen since I started driving, they must sell all of them over here. Theres like 4 of them in my small school's lot alone.

I don't care for apple products in anyway and the new TT doesn't look half bad to me... not the previous TT, well, not so much

A TT-RS is a very capable little machine. More rare than the TT but a very capable little machine. I know you're talking about the TT-S and not the TT-RS. I had a chance to drive the TT-RS recently and it was a lot of fun. It's not for everyone though. I tend to prefer the brute force method, big engine/big car. There are cars in my lot well out of my pay grade like a SLS and a M6, but honestly it's all about perspective. To me, for 60k, a TT-RS is a fine performer. Compare it to a M3 or something else that's 20k more than it, sure, it's not so great. All about what perspective you take in to it.

You know, I REALLY like the TT-RS. Good performance, and I really like the looks (exterior and interior). May have to consider one of these. And I would go as far as saying I would choose a TT-RS over an M3.

Honestly, I like the way the car looked. Fairly aggressive styling, quality craftsmanship, interior looked nice. I wouldn't mind driving one but I've heard mixed things about Audi dealers from a friend of mine who was looking at them recently. Dickhead sales goons treat you like some peon who can't afford an Audi and this is a guy who bought a new 6-series coupe and then just recently bought a brand new 6-series convertible.

Yeah. That's another good observation.
My friend in his awfully pedestrian GMC 1500 truck accelerates quickly and settles into the speed limit where he just chugs along in a content manner.
Just about every time im in the truck with him, some hotshot driving a decisively quicker car, thinks he's racing.
And they probably think some idiot in a slow truck tried to show him up.
I'm not saying that's Jules. He's got common sense equipped to combat idiot notions.

I think they are priced very closely, however the TT-RS performs better (at least in the straights).

Now if you don't mind, I need to pre-order the new iPad. ;)

I saw one with a hot girl in it the other day. Was there a hot girl on your bike? That would so mess up their hair.

I like it too. I was debating a TT-RS vs S5 and I ended up ordering the S5. I felt like the interior was nicer while maintaining the torquey feel and sound of the V8 I wanted. It was tough. The TT-RS is faster, but not as stylish or nice on the inside as the S5 to me.

You know, I just ordered a new car from the Audi dealer here and it was painless. I had the select agreement through my employer so that might have helped, but it was even friendly before I dropped the employer and select agreement for them to know. I was in and out in an hour after speccing and ordering it just how I wanted. It should be here in 2-3 weeks. (After a freaking long wait, boats are slow!)

The TT-S is a fun car to drive.. more fun than an R8 I'd even say. I'd love to drive a TT-RS one day.
