is the 2005fpw worth the $180 difference than a 1905fp?

Aside from 1" of space and maybe composite, is there any reason why I should spend so much more on a 20"? What's the "w" in fpw mean? Widescreen?

Flat Panel WideScreen.
W is for WideScreen :)

I like my 2005FPW, but my friend has a 1905FP and it's also nice. Is it worth the price difference? Probably not.

1680 x 1050 (2005fpw) vs 1280 x 1024 (1905fp)

so it's not just 1" you gain.

If you're a harccore gamer and you're anal get the 2005FPW.

Otherwise the 1905FP is a great bargain.

Higher resolution, lower response time, more inputs = Yes in my book.

Although I'd never buy a 19" lcd.

Depends on what resolution the games can handle. I would rather have a monitor that runs games well maxed out at 1280*1024 then a monitor that has to be scaled down to gain better performance. I can play everything on max with my 6800GT, but I'm not sure that would be the case in 1680*1050

Yes its totally worth it. 1280x1024 looks horrid streched out on a 19inch monitor. If your going with a 19in for monetary reasons stick to a 17in LCD. But the 2005FPW owns and the extra real estate is worth it.

I went for the Viewsonic VP201B ( more expensive) because I decided not to take the high risk of getting a dell with the backlight issue. I would have bought the dell 2005fpw if it wasn't for that problem.

you could also use it as a tv with svideo or composite with PIP..it's freakin sweet. And if you're really cool you could hook up an HDTV receiver to it through DVI and watch the amazing High Definition...but you need some speakers I picked up set of the AS500 speakers and they work great.

It's worth it.

I love the 2005FPW for general desktop use. However when it comes to games, I dont like how it doesnt really display true black. Such are the limits of LCD tech :(

I haven't used composite so I can't really say...I've used svideo and it looks great. I'm sure composite will look damn good too.

Seriously, you should be asking about 17" vs 20", not 19" vs 20". 19" LCD's are pretty much worthless.
Dual 17" vs single 20" is a more reasonable question.
