From MSNBC
The story is about al-Sadr's Mahdi Army, and shows some of them in a parade. The leader has a book stuffed half-way down a pocket on his front, but is very visable. Is this the Koran? I'm assuming it is.
This kind of remindes me of a mob yeilding pitchforks and torches lead by a fat guy holding up the Bible proclaiming "BURN THE WITCH."
We are justified in whatever murders we commit because we have a copy of the Koran with us. Lets torture them while we are at it.
The moment the USA's armed forces leave the country, these people are going to rise up and kill every Sunni they can find. It doesn't matter if its today or ten years from now, there will be a power grab as soon as there is nobody is left to squish the agressors.
So, is it worth the effort to stick around and hope the new government will eventually hold together and be strong enough to stop a coup, or should we just bug-out and let natural selection take its place where the strongest party rules with an iron fist?
I personaly believe that the total number of dead people in Iraq will be roughly the same if there are a few months of unrestricted bloodshed, or ten years of @ss munchers like these killing people in the middle of the night.
