Hey guys jsut wondering if TA is gonna ahve a folding@home team. I am SERIOUSLY thinking about switching to this instead of SETI, I mean SETI is great and all, and I am still waiting for the distributed computing project that is scanning the ocean and all taht stuff to come out. I dont know I am starting to feel that SETI has TONS of users and there are things here on earth itself that we could use our computing power for other than searching for far off radio signals or trying to crack a code that has taken more than 5 years and is still nto cracked yet. Hope I dont get flamed too hard, jsut wondering if someone was gonna start a TA F@H team, and if not then who is willing to help me start one? I dont have the time to produce stats and stuff, but will help in any way taht I can. Thanks again. Links for the Folding@Home project are below.

rc5 has taken just over 3 years... it will probably be done soon after it hits 4 years.

there is a TA in F@H, its #142. doesn't seem to be well coordinated, though. a whole 220 units. holy crap we're behind aggies!

Hadrien,
If f@h is what you want to do then join the TA team for it & start assimilating people from outside the team & help to get it organized. I haven't tried it yet but the last I heard the stats & client are still very buggy which will be a big drawback especially when trying to recruit people who aren't very computer literate to start with. I'm sure as the project matures it'll start to grow just like the other projects have. If you can get a dedicated core of user who will visit the forums & you guys start posting here interest will rise & the team will grow.:)

It is under the name Team AnandTech... I knw there was one and I remember when it was sortof formed...

Note that until they put individual user accounts and the ability to join a team in place, in order to "join" (ie., have your stats all sort to the same team), you have to setup your username as: "Joe Blow (Team AnandTech)". This IS case sensitive too!!!!
