Is T-mobile still the best choice for cellular internet access?

Well they cut off the internet at work :(
god forbid I check out the weather or ATOT at 3 AM :|
not to mention I fix the damn computers in my dept b/c IT won't fix a damn thing, I download updates, clean up the hard drives and basically keep us running.
and we need internet access to get to the hospital network as there is no access from outside.

I usually bring my laptop in, I want to get a cell plan that offers internet access.
I think at&t has faster access but for a lot more money.

are there any other choices out there.

What's the deal with cellular internet? Is there an FCC throttle? What are the best speeds?

best speeds are Verizon with their wireless card, access good anywhere in philly, most of NJ and NY City.

300 kb/sec. sweet sweet, only problem is card is like $200.00 and the plan is $70/ month flat unlimited use.

not sure if the link will work for you. there is an audivox card from verizon that's $49.00 after rebate, but the plan is still $70.00 / month. if the plan were half that, i would buy this no questions asked.

Hey, thanks for that...

I wonder if anyone has used it in Chicago?

I probably come off as a bit of a verizon wireless whore, but the service is excellent. also, since i'm literally on the road, either driving or at client location 50 hrs / week, it would make sense for me to have this, but not at $70.00 / month. i already pay them $110.00 / month for my cell phone. :(

i agree.

did you try the verizon wireless cell phone via usb cable to laptop for internet access? verizon wireless phones get 50 to 60 kb/s access using cell phone and there are no additional fees just minutes used, hence nights and weekends are free.

yes, it can work thru bluetooth. i haven't set it up yet because my laptop didn't have bluetooth. just by the verizon connection pack, it includes the cable, the drivers, the dialup app and an address book. just go thru the setup, very easy.
