is supreme commander better or command and conquer 3?

They are completely different games, so it is hard to compare them game-play wise. Technically, C&C-3 seems more polished and runs very smoothly, even on a lower-end system, while SupCom still needs patching/tweaking. If you liked the quick and gritty style of the original C&C you will love C&C-3, if you were a big fan of TA you will probably like SupCom more.

very different games. Only thing they have in common is the name RTS. In C&C, you are more into each unit, while SupCom is more of a oversee the entire battle from further away but more massive battles.

I prefer C&C style. Actually, I like Starcraft/Warcraft style which is even more zoomed in and moreso that each unit matters.

Bleh I can't stand SC/WC3 for that reason. I hate having to order each individual guy when they are low on health to move back, or to cast individual spells, etc. What I like is manipulating large groups, composed of mixed units but with similar functions (i.e. long range artillery on one group, tanks and and vehicles in another, infantry in a third, defensive units in a fourth, air fighters in a fifth, bombers in sixth, etc). I really loved TA, although SupCom still needs some work. Rise of Nations is still my all-time favorite RTS. C&C seems to be a nice medium between those, with fairly small scale battles but not much micro'ing involved.

I understand where you are coming from, but the beauty of SC/WC is that every single unit is effective; early units don't become obsolete like they do in C&C.

The gameplay of SC is too bland. I'm a Starcraft/CC guy myself but I loved RoN because of its complexity.

Online play is a joke with C&C3.
Any comments on how well the online play is with SC?

La la la theyre different games etc etc ill just say RoN to avoid an arguement blah blah, heard it before.

C&C 3 is better. If your a c&c fan youve no need to buy sup com, if your an RTS in general fan you should consider both. I think C&C 3's release actually caused a drop in sup coms price.

Whats that supposed to mean?? Online play is fantastic, ive had a great time 2v2ing and 3v3ing with buddies on it, its great. When theyre not on automatch does the job nicely. Online play is fast and fluid as promised, ive had less laggy games on c&c 3 than ive had with starcraft on average. The ranking system is fair too, mr 100 wins 3 losses will have an overall lower rank than mr 50 wins and 200 losses. Its great!
