Hi there,
I am about to install my new 3800 X2 CPU and started thinking about the stock heatsink that came with it. I heard that higher X2 models come with the 4-heatpipe heatsink which is not bad at all. Since I am not planning on OCing my system or maybe do a very mild OCing later after I get my system running smoothly, I wonder if it's worthwhile to go after the heatpipe heatsink. I know that the heatpipe design is better but is it necessary for a system that is going to be run at stock parameters or very mildly OCed?
I heard that this heatpipe heatsink can be had for around $25 new. Is this a good price? Also, would I be able to sell my original X2 3800 heatsink and what do you think I could get in the open market for it. Has anyone with the X2 3800 has done this upgrade and what is your opinion ?
Thanks,
