Is Sprint going to offer a data 3G service in the near future?

I think the model number is the SPH-A460 I think. I can't find a picture or anything of it anywhere besides a press release..

The interesting thing is they're making little or no effort to promote it now. I figured they would be hyping this up so that more ppl will get it. I'll go for since I need a new phone anyway but the only info I'm finding is in some obscure press releases and industry rags.

So now comes the decision to get a good phone now, or get a crap one now and wait until the new 3G ones come out towards the end of the summer and upgrade then.

The current 3G phone from sprint does not support the high-speed aspect of the standard and it is unknown if it will be upgradeable to fully utilize the available speed(s).

i have been tracking the 3G for the past week or so and found out all the information i can get..

Right now, the two 3G VOICE phones that are available would be the Sanyo 5150 & Sanyo 6200. 3G Data would be only the Sanyp 5150 right now.

The two flagship phones of sprintPCS when 3G gets launched would be the Samsung A460 & the Samsung A500. Price for these phones are rumored to be $199 for the A460 & 299 for the A500.

As for the promoting of 3G, I'm not sure if you noticed but if you pass by your local SprintPCS retailer flagship store, they have a big blowout Sale going on. This sale is happening to make way for the new 3G phones when 3G Rolls out and also to get rid of their old stock of phones.

As for when 3G rolls out. I am hearing conflicting reports... I read that it would be June 30th, July 4th or in August. So right now, I dont know when the *ACTUAL* roll out date is.
