Is Spore worth $10?

I want to buy it but the reviews are mixed. People say it gets boring. Anyone tried it?
 
Well, I installed it last night on my desktop and played it quite a bit after I installed it. I am not sure how much I will replay it, if at all, but I am wanting to see if I can take it all the way.

One of my biggest complaints is that I want more pre-done buildings and vehicles, to just get me up and running. I don't always want to have to design every little thing in my civilization, you know?
 
I played it once and that is probably all I will play it. I guess if you like the sims you might like it. Just gets very repetitive.
