yo i just got the sp2 for win xp pro and its cramming alerts and messages down my throat for a thousand different stupid virus protection precautions. I DONT CARE that i downloaded .exe I KNOW WHAT I GOT AND I WANT IT. so why do they have to treat us like babies and tell us there might be malicious code in it. and that security center is some overprotecting garbage. its like everywhere i turn is another message and its driving me crazy.

Turn off the Security Center Service and you'll be at peace again. Just make sure your AV defs are up to date and you've got a decent firewall.

Because the vast majority of Windows users are idiots who don't know what the heck they are doing. Just look at the people you know like neighbors, relatives, friends, etc. How many of them do you think have computers infected with spyware, viruses, and stupid P2P apps like Kazaa?
