Can you believe it? Sony issued me a $30.00 rebate check and stopped payment. This rebate is for a Sony 12X/8X/32X RW Which I bought from Dell in Sept. I received the check and deposited it about 2 weeks ago (check issing date is 12/05/2001). To my surprise, my bank returned the check back to me yesterday, stamping only" STOP PAYMENT DO NOT REDEPOSIT." charging me also a banking fee. Sure, there were times when you never got your rebate check. But issuing a check and then stopping payment , is this rebate cheating in the worst way?

well you could also get a lawyer and pay 100$ an hour on legal fees, and drag out a 50$ settlement out of Sony =) .. good luck ..

Call Sony support about it. Sometimes a company closes a certain account or lets it run dry and they don't have the funds in it, but the still owe you the money. Tell Sony the situation and that they need to make payment for your bank fee as well.

They owe you money. Give em hell about it.

Give Sony hell! If they make good you should post here and let everyone know.

Hmmmm - Sounds like just a mix up of sorts...if it happened to everybody then wouldn't we be hearing about it in the news or on the boards or on someother mountain people tend to preach from when things don't go exactly as planned...perhaps maybe it's even your banks fault...
