I'm getting Acer 16x10x40 CRW1610A writer, and I heard it's a bit picky on media...
Also I want to buy bulk(10) media as long as I'm paying for the delievary, but doesn't have many choices. (1 actually.. :) )
They sell sony CDR1080 700MB cdr blank disk.. do you think they will work fine with my new writer?
Or generally, are they good?

Yep, sony CD-Rs are pretty good... they are actually just re-branded Maxells...

Maxells, Sony, and HP's are all I use nowadays...

Sony == good

I also like TDK and Mitsui.

Sony (blue) CDR discs might not work on crappy CDROM drives, but
that shouldn't be a huge problem.

I have an Acer 12X8X32 and it has successfully written on to every disk I have ever put in there without a single coaster even the generic junk I have used at times. I have used Sony CDs as well with much success.
