I think this list of gadgets http://jaybanks.ca/vancouver-blog/2013/04/09/top-technology-home-trends-vancouver/ (if I could call it that way) is a bit random, but my question is are these things really worth it?
I mean look at car2go for an example. It may look great on the first glimpse, you don't have to own a car or use public transport in order to get where you want, you save some resources, energy, make world a better place (or not)...but there are so many BUTS, like:
- availability: who can guarantee that there would be a car for you when you need it the most or that it would be in your area
- space: these cars are pretty small, so if you go shopping for food or buy yourself a new piece of furniture, there's no way you're putting it into the car. Not to mention that you cannot simply drive your friends, family or colleagues anywhere in that.
So in the end, how and why is it better than owning o a car of using a public transit system if you don't have responsibilities in which you need a car?
phone finder app - this one looks actually good. But I usually have problem finding my keys, not my phone. I always wondered why nobody came up with some kind of a small buzzer you put on your key chain, that you can phone to to make a sound, or have at home some kind of a small remote that would make the alarm go off. I would buy that immediately.
Wireless audio speakers look like fun, but there are far from being something new or gadget. Anyway I like the cool lamp on the night stand ( http://jaybanks.ca/images/2013/04/Bowers-Wilkins-Wireless-Music-System.jpg )even better. I want one like that!
