Just a general question: is Intel planning a new socket any time soon? It seems like it's been a while since the last upgrade (compared to AMD, anyway... wasn't 754 around when 478 was, and 939 started around 775?).
Basically, I've spent way too much time and money building a computer, selling / giving it a way, and building another one. Now that I have a few things I can rely on, I'd like to slowly upgrade my components over time. What I do with my current liquid cooling system depends on whether or not 775 is going to stick around for a while, or if there's already a new socket coming out soon.
