Will a Socket 370 and a FC-PGA hsf fit each other or does it specifically have to state one or the other in the hsf specs?
Thanks for your help.

Well in the 'old days' you just had PGA cpus not FC-PGA. The FC stands for Flip Chip because the core of the CPU is on the top side in direct contact w/ the HSF where as w/ the original PGA cpus the core faced downward into the socket. It'd be pretty safe to say any modern day HSF you see will work w/ Socket 370 and a FC-PGA cpu if it lists one or the other in it's specs.

You will see that some HSF's are made for FCPGA chips, but i have a FCPGA and i went with the Alpha PAL 6035 and it works just fine. I have a Socket 370 board also.
