Is society finally accepting the female body again?

I grew up in the 80's. This was the era of cheesy rock videos with screaming hot half naked chicks, horror movies with more boobies than blood and B movies that were basically rated by the nipple content.

Then came the 90's. This was the era when a well respected actress getting naked in a movie was not only acceptable but it was expected. Hot, popular actresses graced album covers in the buff and super models "acted". I believe the apex of this was Cindy Crawford in whatever movie it was that she was in and freed her birds.

And then came the 00's. I blame W for this. Horror movies sucked. Rock videos all but disappeared, horror movies tried to be brain teasers and actresses kept more clothes on than an Eskimo in December. Somehow it became acceptable for fat white men to bear their assets on major networks though.

But it seems now that we are getting back to accepting the female form in all its glory. I believe that is our job as red blooded Americans to lead society into its re-acceptance of boobies. Even our less evolved Brit cousins accept the female body for the beautiful sculpture that it is. We are America; there is no reason for us not to embrace and encourage the beauty that is the nude female body.

That is all.

Ugh porn is rampant now, you don't have to hit pause on that vhs tape anymore;) Really lame movies were made in the past just to show a bit of tit, and that was enough when people had few options.

Sorry, but this was all Clinton's fault, starting with NYPD Blue and Dennis Franz in 1993...

I don't know if society is accepting the female body, but I do know now, more than ever, there are females in society doing serious work, without much recognition.

I know a few in my life, I guess I'm lucky, but now, more than ever women are doing damn good work. As society becomes more posh, I beg you to remember the forgotten women, working hard to make society a better place. Not just the stereotypes, the women scientists, engineers, designers, and professionals! Working two steps forward to one step back, breaking glass ceilings and making America, and the free world a better place.

are you saying the male body has always been accepted and the female body only in certain eras?

I like a nice retro bush. Not oldsmoboat approved ape hairy but a nice trimmed hedge is cool with me.

Women have hair dammit and I don't want my women looking like something alkemyst would pick up in a Florida daycare during one of his binges.

Huh? The 00's were absolute crap across American entertainment, but I don't see the lack of cheesy rock videos as the problem when we had things like this, this, and this.

And let's not forget pre-crack whore.

I've always been receptive of the female bodies, just not the ugly ones.

I say, it IS women's right to walk outside with fishnets and lace panties and such. They can even go topless for all I care*.

My philosophy is this. For the most part we are all built one of two ways, yet we still act like we've never seen the human form before. We find it more acceptable to depict the ultimate destruction of life in the most insane ways possible, but if we even think about flashing a nipple, we freak the hell out. Sometimes I dislike our society, I really do.

Well, with an era of free internet porn upon us, there is no need to view boobies at the movies.
