From experience.....The ice hurt worse.

I hate that feeling when you fall and your head hits the ground, and you immediately feel like puking.

I've never hit my head on either one, so I don't know.

Queasy definately needs to wear a helmet.

Isn't that the sign of a concussion?

Why do you think I'm Queasy? :p

I hit my head on ice learning to ice skate when I was kid. I've hit my head on concrete playing basketball, doing tricks on my bike when I was kid, etc.

I used to figure skate and I've probably hit my head on the ice around 10 times, man that was a b!tch and my mom would always try to comfort me by saying falling on ice is better than concrete...

Never hit my head on ice but thought I broke my elbow or tailbone a few times. All I remember is, 'ouch, that freaking hurts'.

Which reminds me of when I used to skate I would skate "between couples". Meaning that if they were holding hands, I'd duck down and skate right through them..

_|__|_
../\ . ./\.
. ...^
And I'd go right between them.
Good times I guess, but the reason why this reminds me of that is because out of all the times I did it successfully, there was one time there was a really tall guy with his girl and as I was heading in, they moved together closer than I need them to be spaced and so I effectively flipped them both and they fell. I obviously apoligised and they were alright but I believe that was the last time I did it..
Man...

Reminds me of this one time when one of the dudes I used to speedskate (inline) with came for an evening run totally freaked out. He was working on an ice-rink that day, teaching kids and what not.

This one lady decides to try out ice skating. Puts on the skates, gets on ice, takes a couple of steps - WHAM - falls backwards and hits her head on ice.
Everyone heard a loud crack and saw a puddle of blood leaking from under the head.

They call in paramedics and try to give first aid to the lady. She regains consciousness and tries to get up, stuck in a loop of "I'm ok. I'm ok". And everyone can see a crack in the skull and blood trickling out. Paramedics arrive and take her away.

Needless to say, since that evening everyone in our group never skated without a helmet any more.

How tall was he? When I figure skated I believe I was at around 5'7 or so...

Edit: I realized this post made no sense, and the reason I ask is because if your really tall, I'm sure you'd crack your skull, right?
