I mean does it affect gameplay / performance that much ?

I am debating getting a SLI system . But can I get by with just an Asus or an MSI non sli board ?

Also would a 480 W power supply be enough for an SLI system ?

thanks

Please do a search for SLI in the Video Forums. This topic has been hashed/rehashed so many times by now that virtually anything you can think of asking has already been debated/answered there.

It isnt worth it with current cards.. Because a) no games out there atm that need it, [linked to b] b) no games out there that are worth getting it for c) new singlecards are planned for release in a few months that will beat 2 6800U's, and provide support for the next DirectX. oh and it is sehr expensive.
Infact i even regret buying my x800xt pe because i know it isnt groundbreaking, and its lifetime short because of no support for next directx etc.
I think SLI is only worth it if you earn WAY too much money, and upgrade your video card when each time a vid card is released that is more powerful (has to have the very fastest, always)

480W probably would be enough, providing you dotn have lots of drives etc
