Is Sims 2 OpenGL or DirectX?

Someone mentioned to me that the problems I get in my games (CS:S, HL2, Sims 2) might be DirectX related. However I thought the Sims 2 was OpenGL. Does anyone know? And in case I need to reinstall DirectX, how would I go about doing this? Thanks.

directx ;)

kkers, can you tell me how I can reinstall my DirectX will be much thanks  :p

mmm try reinstalling a game with dx9.c included i guess :p

i have some horrible gfx problems some times in a few games (hl2/CS:S/Sims2/farcry being notable examples) that are windows/directx corruptions i think... def not card driver or card problems (used driver cleaner, multiple driver versions, and multiple new cards that work perfectly in other systems)

since you can't uninstall and reinstall directx i'd really appreciated some help here too if anyone can?

Cheers.

I dunno, it's my sister's game and I installed it mainly to test my vid card but it's actually a lot bigger and better than the original.

Yeah, I only got to play the first for about an hour or so but it seemed fun. I don't mind playing games like that but a lot of the hardcore gamers look down on it for some reason. I think my friend has it, I'll borrow it from him and see how it is.

Have you tried rebooting to see if that fixes your error? j/k :p

I think you can just install it over your old Direct X but I'm not sure. If there is no other way you can always reformat lol.

Heh, too bad I've tried reformatting only 3 or 4 times...:p

I downloaded the latest DirectX 9.0c installer, and although I already have 9.0c, I installed it again anyway. Didn't fix any problems.

W/e I'll keep you guys posted if I can.
