Sex.

Just like 75% of American "musicians" over the years.

Elvis was selling sex. He just seems tame by comparison to Miley.
Listen to the sounds of nature.
Insects, birds, amphibians....

All of them are just screaming out to anyone in range: "I WANT SEX!"

Then think of how many of our songs relate to love and relationships.

Our roots are showing quite clearly.

How come she is so popular online? All I ever see online are news about her and I never heard a song from her on the radio.

lol I thought the same thing, I hope the answer is music since she appears to be 13 years old.

Forgetting who Ariana Grande is in five . . . four . . . three . . .

She's 21.

High sexual market value makes her valuable. Then she sells the music on the coattails of her sex appeal. Humans are animals and our great interest in sex and mating is showing through. It is all very easy to understand. The only difficulty comes when one falsely expects people to be more civilized than they actually are.

I never hear her on the radio either, but its simple, the station I listen to doesn't play her type of music.

If she is so popular I don't know why the pop stations around here never play her music. There a lot of pop stations here and at least one should have play her songs already.

The first time I ever heard of her name was watching Big Brother 16. Frankie bragged to everyone Ariana Grande is his sister and everyone was in awe. I had to search online to find out who she was. Then recently I keep seeing her name pop up all over the place online and still have yet to hear her song on the radio.

I can't believe that's accurate, Roy Orbinson had an amazing voice and range, he didn't "fit the mold" so they say as far as looks go he was ugly, other male singers of the era were handsome so they gave Roy the best hairstyle they could and a pair of GIANT sunglasses LOL. In the end he was a huge success, bad looks and all the man was a very gifted songwriter with a honey-sweet voice that he maintained all the way till his untimely death.

I think the list is accurate up to "highest note hit in a professional recording", but that could be misleading. It isn't sustained, nor is it entirely free of altering. And, it is missing close to a million singers. Notables missing are both Tim and his son Jeff Buckley which are supposed to be in the 4+ octave range.

And with that said, your octave range means very little when it comes to style, writing, and phrasing in songs. Sure, it is impressive when artists (mostly notable divas) hit those high notes, but if the song is crap, it is still well performed crap.

. Women are bitching about being objectified by men, yet they continue to objectify themselves in the name of $$$$$$$!

and in 9/10 cases the women complaining look like Rosanne Barr and Rosie O'Donnell

Doctors use pictures of them to counteract the effects of too much Viagra. Instant deflation

Well, let's not compare those animals with human beings. We want want sexuality for its pleasure . Some of us go to great lengths to acquire it. Just look at how many forms of contraceptives there are. So many ads now about birth control etc. It's all about pleasure. But I know that may sound cruel to those who believe they're in love, etc.

We want pleasure and sex is the ultimate form of it. I think we humans don't realize that there is a price we pay for that ultimate pleasure. For most of us, we would gladly pay any price for it.

LOL @ love and relationships. All that is out the window. It's meaningless now. Love is just another cheap word and relationship is whoever you slept with last.

By the way, we get what we deserve. We deserve these "role models" and celebrities. We are the ones following them on Facebook and wherever else. These people know how to exploit us because we let them.

Unfortunately, parenting is out the window as well. Kids learn, whether good or bad (usually the latter), at school. And sexuality and pursuing personal desires and ambitions is the main thing they learn - like always. So nothing is really new but the way its packaged is different. The next generation will continue on this downward spiral like the previous countless generations.

More shit the music industry is trying to pass off as music! *BARF*

Not to mention the tramp school girl look. Women are bitching about being objectified by men, yet they continue to objectify themselves in the name of $$$$$$$!

Then there are women who wants to be treated equally to men, yet they demand that "men should open the door for them" of them

I'm sure that's why animals are doing it as well, at least on some level. We've just got absurdly-large brains, so we assign some kind of higher significance to what is essentially the same basic thing.
