Have a Compaq MP3 player that takes 2 x 32meg. mutlimedia cards. Wanted to upgrade to 128 megs. So bought a 128 mb sercure digital card. Looks the same but is thiker. Trouble is it doesn't want to go in. Maybe if I force it but I was wondering if it's suposed to be compatable or what?
Anyone know?

from what i understand, Secure Digital is the same as MMC with an extra pin to protect the data if anything goes haywire. Some devices say secure digital/MMC and some explicably say MMC. I don't think the SD card would work if only says MMC. Email Compaq and ask.

I had the same question for my RCA KAZOO. Wanted to get another 64 MB MMC but say SD was the same but it wouldn't work =(.

Last time i checked, newegg had a 64 MB Hitachi MMC for 41 bucks. pretty good price considering i went to CompUSA to check prices and the Memorex 64 MMC was 75 bucks.

Thanks,
I am taking the 128 mb secure digital back and have ordered a 128 mb MMC hitachi multimedia card from some outfit call banana PC for 59 shipped.
Hitachi original it says. We will see.
