That's an observation that has nothing to do with the topic at hand.

It's on topic. Conservative "concerns" about the homeless in any big city are obviously maudlin posturing considering where their priorities lie. Will smaller gubmint do anything to alleviate homelessness? Bigger military? Border wall?

Y'all don't really give a fuck. Let the Jerb Creators fix it, just like they're fixing rural/ small town America. Like they fixed the Rust Belt.

Or we could do it differently. All it takes is money-

The GOP doesn't have any solutions to problems. They don't recognize the big problems; they hype the little ones -- like "the terr'ists are comin' to bomb Podunk!" They see government as the problem -- period. Their solution is to mismanage it, demoralize it, corrupt it, and damage it as much as possible.

I wouldn't come to this because of some leftist belief system. I came to it from watching them for the last 40 years, and only changed my registration 16 years ago. But in this discussion, I see evidence of another one of their logical inconsistencies.

When it comes to gun violence, confronted with the possibility of more stringent gun regulation, the GOP-ers suddenly focus their attention on a need for "mental health" services and initiatives. So, no less, with the homelessness problem. Just move'em out of the county. No homeless shelters in my neighborhood. Hands off the real-estate industry. It's a men-tal health problem!

Then, as the observations of Trump's psychological disorder piled up, we suddenly get a response that this is all political posturing, we're all "out to get him". Santorum denies all of it. He says he isn't prepared to diagnose anything. To him, it's not a problem. He just says he was "disturbed" by the McCain tweets.

Yes -- disturbed.

My solution to Make America Great Again -- offer the GOP-ers Trump condo pre-sales in Antarctica, and pitch the selling point that everything is white down there . . . .and no -- homeless -- people.

Plus, the streets are spotless in Pyongyang & there are no protesters in Riyadh. Dictatorship obviously has its good points.

Drug use is a morality problem. The psycho-doctors even have outreach in colleges to treat students with depression with drugs. What they need is a swift kick in the rear. Giving a bunch of young people drugs just messes them up. Everywhere you see young people having pill popping parties. This is a total lack of moral upbringing.

We need to start with alcohol abuse. Alcohol is a gateway drug.

When was the last time you personally stepped over human waste on the sidewalk? That's like a conservative's urban legend, I figure.

It happens at work probably once a month. There is usually a discussion about whos area its in and who has to clean it up. Usually the lowest supervisor since you have to be first aid certified to handle bio waste. I have a video of me making fun of a coworker trying to clean up a mess without getting sick. I"ll see if I can find it. :)

You can't help someone that won't help himself. Some percentage of homeless people are there because of bad luck, poor planing, or just simply not being all that bright. Those folks can be helped very successfully. Those that are drug addicts or mentally ill are a different story. We can't force treatment on them, they have to want it.

I'm pretty sure this is what older people have blamed the younger generation's failures on since younger generations were invented.
