Is search still indexing the database?

When searching on terms I get posts from 2001-2005. This would make sense if the software hasn't finished indexing the database.

This is correct. It's taking a long while because we need to keep pausing it for a myriad of reasons (it takes an obscenely long time, for one), but we'll get this done and the searching issues resolved soon enough.

I believe this is related to the indexing process so I figured I'd toss it in here. I searched for my own posts to try to find some recent items that I couldn't track down just by looking at the forum lists, and while only getting older stuff is expected (for now), I actually got some results of posts that show my name, avatar, and signature on the posts, but they are messages that I did not post.

It's not a really big deal since those messages are 11 years old. I just thought it was interesting..

Seems to be working better now...at least compared to the last time I tried. Even the view my own posts thing is working now, although it doesn't tell you what threads have new posts in them, so what's the point?

Yup, the indexing was completed last night, so we should be back to normal loading speeds. Everybody's post history should also be correct and searchable now, so it was all worth it 🙂

This is...curious. Unfortunately, I don't have any way to check what happened there. If it's a one-off error, it probably isn't a big problem, given the age of those posts. If anybody else spots things like this though, please create a separate thread and ping me with @Titillating in the post (yay for fancy new forum features!) to make sure I see it.
