Is SBLive any better than SBPCI128 for recording?

I've recently purchased a mixer (Gemini) and would like to mix a few songs. I've hooked up my home stereo and MD player to the mixer, and the output to the sbpci128 for recording into wav format. I use the Creative Software that I found on their website for recording, but the sound quality of the wav file is inferior to that of both sources (home stereo and md player). Is it the mixer or the sound card? any advice?

thanx

I don't have experience with the sb128, but I use the sblive to do A LOT recording. I use sound forge and the live provides a very clean signal which is necessary for good recording. I'm guessing that since the sblive is newer than the sb128, it should have better sound quality.

hmm, newer does not mean better. I have found that even pretty cheap sound cards have pretty good recording, so stick with what you have.

Well I can't help you out with recording but moving from a SB PCI 128 and SB Live value I can for sure notice the sound quality improving by quite a bit.
