Hi, this is my question: a SATA II HD is going to work without problems with a MOBO that doesn't support SATA II? Do I have to make some adjustments?

as long as it has a sata connection, in theory it should work. most of the sataII stuff is turned off when you get the hdd and need to turn it on if your m/b support sataI

Thanks alot bob. I get a Samsung SATA II at the price of SATA I. Is it true that all the Samsung HD are Spinpoint? I want a quiet one and the seller couldn't tell me it's serial number.
So, with a standard sata cable it sould work, right?

SATA II is backwards compatible, and there isn't a differance in the cable either, so yes you can use any SATA cable.

OK. I got the HD160JJ and I had to return it. Full of bad sectors and the moment I ran the diagnostics utility got stucked and kept on clicking; and of course this was their last model so now I have to wait for a new one.
I really think is time for a new HD standard
