Is Sarah Palin "one of you common folks"?

I dunno. Child of a teacher and administrator, entered a few beauty shows, went to college, and married her high school sweetheart - a fisherman. Sounds pretty ordinary to me.

I'm not a Palin fan, but as the cnews clip says she "demands" a high end room at Comfort Suites at $139 along with 2 single rooms and 2 bottles of water with bendable straws ........... hmmm sounds like fake outrage at her "demands"

Would most people do what she does if they could get paid that much? Probably.

I don't respect her, but it's not because she's out there using her fame to make money. Also, her speaking contract seems pretty tame by modern standards. She doesn't even demand that all of the TVs in her room be turned to Fox News before she enters it.

Becomes governor of a state then abandons it. Talks about being folksy and has hundreds of thousands in clothing.

Pretty much she says "I'm one of you. Now hand me my 100k"

I don't know any common folk who do that, unless being dumb as a stump is the definition of "common people"

What are "common folk" anyway? Is that someone who says "folk," instead of "people," for instance? I imagine the majority of people think of themselves as "common folk," but that doesn't mean the same thing to each person who thinks it. As well, people will identify or not identify with someone like Palin, to varying degrees, depending on how they see themselves.

On her part, it's all an act anyhow - the whole populism thing - but that is true with just about any political public figure.

The "common folk" are those one wants to court for votes. The name varies. It is the "I am one of you" whether you are an African American looking for black votes, an Iraqi War President looking for support or whatever.

The name changes as well as the audience, however it's merely pandering by identification.

She is a common something:) What is it called when you degrade yourself and entertain others for money?

She was a Governor, made several million dollars in a year or so, and is a pretty good looking old broad. I'd say she's far from ordinary.

unless she's joined the crowd of famous people with a sex tape, I don't want to hear or talk about her

Her life story is far more 'common' than any other VP or Presidential candidate of recent memory.

BTW very few people remain 'common' once they reach the level of economic success that Palin now enjoys.

BTW2 for someone the left claims to hate so much they sure do talk about her a lot.

Can we please round up the people who would pay money to see Palin talk and put them into a camp? Seriously. I mean it. Labor camps for them.
