One nice thing about this is that now I probably won't be able to purchase a new computer until after the G3 SSD drives are available. I wanted to wait until those were out anyway, but I am getting impatient with my current 7 year old setup. I wasn't going to wait anymore and was going to buy a 2600K when I got back from my vacation in two weeks (to make sure I had the money for it after the vacation.)

Now I have to wait until April regardless. I might as well wait until the G3 SSDs are released and maybe even until Bulldozer is released. Then I will have a choice in processors, and a better SSD for my OS/boot drive.

I can't say i agree. Although it's a problem that is annoying i'm running all my drives 3x HDD and 1xSSD off the Intel sata ports and i couldn't be happier. Sure i'll send it back when the recalls are in place, but at the moment it's the fastest PC i've ever owned!

I'm 99% happy with the purchase (-1% because i have to send my mobo back in april)

I feel the same way. Just finished my build and this is the best chip I've ever owned, Very fast and super cool 21-24C @ idle.
I'm actually happy I bought it before the recall.

I had planned to upgrade my now ancient AMD machine to a 2600K mid-February. I figured I'd see how things worked out for the early adopters, and get the feedback. Glad i did

I'll still be making the move. I'm just going to be pushed back a few months. By then the Z68 based motherboards may be out, plus more SATA 6GB/S SSDs, and who knows what in graphics cards. I'll just end up with a better machine.

Can't you just connect everything to SATA-6.0 ports?

This is a non-issue if you have one HD.

If you have an SSD, HD, and Optical though...

I'm now kind of glad that i missed SB because of this flaw, but it wouldn't have been a big deal for the PC i designed around P67.
