Is Samurai X "NOT" R-Kenshin??

AHQ is a group that distributes high quality anime, hence the name "Anime High Quality". The (American) TV series didn't show all the episodes, uncensored. The AHQ one will probably give you all episodes, high quality and uncensored, and it sports 2 or 4 OAV's, too .

There are 6 episodes of those Samurai X OAV/OVAs. I think it is split up into OAV/OVA 1 and OAV/OVA 2. The first has 4 episodes and the second has 2 episodes.
For me I bought The Collection Samurai X and it had both OAV/OVA (6 episodes total).
3 DVDs: Samurai X reflection, betrayal, and trust.

There are 95 episodes and I believe is composed of 3 ARCs. They are usually called Rurouni Kenshin (spelling check?), but sometimes called Samurai X. I called it the Rurouni Kenshin TV series as it is less confusing due to the OAV/OVA and movie having Samurai X in it.

And I believe 1 movie with it being split into 2 parts if you DL it. I believe it is called Samurai X: The Motion Picture.

If it says TV series and the other one says 0-95 yes they are the same. Although Vegitto pointed out the AHQ is probably a better one to download.

They only showed ~65 epsodes of R-Kenshin on CN it really made me mad more so then the heavy editing. I wish if they pick up an anime they would finish it.

I wish they woudln't dub it. They don't translate it correctly in the first place and usually make it sound out of sync or horrible.

It's the same thing. When they first went to release the OVA's in Amercia, they changed the name because they are idiots and figured Rurouni Kenshin was too Japanese to sell. Then Mediablasters got rights to the TV show and released it as Rurouni Kenshin and it was popular. They rereleased the OVAs and movie recently with reversible covers. That way you could make it Rurouni Kenshin again if you wanted or leave it Samurai X.

Basically, Samurai-X is what the OVA and movie was called. The regular TV series is licensed by a different company. They are both good, the OVA's are considered greatness by many. Enjoy!

EDIT - The dub was better than the typical dub, mainly because they didn't translate all the attacks and just let them be. Still the original is much better and should be watched over the dub, as usual.

oav/ova = original animation video = straight to video, not show in theatres or on tv.

Same characters, consistent story-line. The first OVA shows the graphic backstory/history during the meiji revolution to which Kenshin and Saito are thrown back when they first fight in the dojo (you notice Kenshin's eyes go all evil). The second shows the after story, after the TV series ends....which of course is different from the manga (or atleast the manga doesn't have the religious arc, and the TV series doesn't have the Jinchu arc).

Yes, Samurai X is basically an earlier story of Shinta/Battousai/Kenshin's life. It explains why he is the way he is. It's probably my favorite anime of all time.

What the hell? There is 95 Episodes, plus the OVAs and movies. There isn't 95 episodes of Rurouni Kenshin and an extra 95 for Samurai X.

Rurouni Kenshin = Samurai X
Samurai X was just a name change so it wouldn't seem so foreign. AniDB has everything listed if you search for the show. They also list alternative names for shows that have undergone a similar name change.
