Is Safedisc safe?

Hello. Just purchased the game Far Cry (it was only $9.99 at Amazon) for my laptop since it was a pretty fun game and doesn't require that much computing power (older game). I was curious if it is safe to install since it uses Safedisc 3.15.10. I don't want to copy it. Just want to be sure it isn't going to mess up my other programs or prevent me from using my CD/DVD burner on my laptop before I install it. Thanks.

Safedisk is fine, its on heaps of games, where did you hear it could damage the machine? Or were you thinking of Starforce?

Thanks. I don't keep up much with copy protection since I don't have alot of time for gaming. I heard about Starforce in the past (so I avoid all games that use Starforce) and I wasn't sure if there were other copy protection software that damaged the computer as well. The box says "This game contains technology intended to prevent copying that may conflict with some disc and virtual drivers." This worried me so I wanted to double-check before I proceed. Thanks again. 🙂

It's pretty bad when you buy a game and have to worry about f'n up your machine by installing it
