Is Rust any good?

I'm bored of DayZ right now. I want to try out Rust. Is it any good? Is it really similar to DayZ? Will I be PvPing more on Rust? Will I encounter alot of hackers in Rust? Will I be doing alot of running? If you played both which do you prefer and why?
