I am currently running my 3 sticks of crucial 3x256 in my msi k7t266pro2ru at 2.7v so that i can use the sdram 1t command. Running them at the default (2.5v) makes sdram 1t unstable. All my other timings are maxed(2-5-2-2,4way,4qw,fast), and stable at with default voltage and 2.6 or 2.7. Why would upping the voltage make 1t stable and is it safe?

Crucial memory is only eated at Cas 2.5 although it usually works at Cas 2 and overclocks very well. Upping the voltage allows the DIMM to work at higher frequencies/more aggressive timings just like more voltage allows a cpu to run at higher clock speeds.

Don't worry about frying your memory.

No it is not bad, i think crucial says 2.7 is the max.. but i know people that run it at 2.8 no probs.. plus, life time warranty...

the reason it is more stable is the same reason a CPU is more stable with more voltage... sometimes it sucks to much juice... the +1 helped my problems with UT crashing... G/L
