I bought GTA V a few months ago and it took days to get working properly because the Social Club would never complete the update successfully. Finally after some forum posting I figured out a solution that worked. Played for a few weeks, quit for a while.
Last night I try to start again and cannot open GTA V (I want to play OFFLINE btw)... because I cannot sign into Social Club (which I never want any part of anyway). Try to reset password, email never comes. Open ticket with support and get no answer for 24 hours --- they finally send me an email and its in Russian.
Turns out my account was hacked/stolen and switched to Russian. I never got any alert, email, notice or anything that my account was broken into (how about an alert when your country of origin is changed to one 5000 miles away)?
So I manage to reset my account and get everything back to normal (I don't even want to play anymore at this point) and start up GTA V. Guess what. It needs another 700 MB update, that of course is failing.
I had this same kind of crap with GTA IV years ago. So... frustrating...
