I got the go ahead from work today to pick a new laptop. I was thinking about the 13" Pro but there's all these rumors about a retina MBA incoming? What you guys/gals think?
Rumors aside, until Intel actually starts delivering the chips they need to make a retina MBA, and retain the battery life it isn't coming.
Can't wait for Apple's event aka price drops for all current models![]()
Who do I call to get a refund on my purchase price?
$1299... They should have made it starting at $999 and killed the rest of the MBA line. Who the hell is going to buy the regular MBA instead of the new machine?
Your two sentences contradict each other (or one explains the other, for that matter).
That is exactly why they made it start at $1299, otherwise this will cannibalize their own MBA line.
The old MBA's are now useless. Old screens and not that much faster than Core M. Why not just sell one super light laptop and if you want more power move up the Pro.
I note they have added that Force Touch trackpad (as well as some processor and graphics bumps) to the 13" Retina MBP - at this point I think that is the machine I'd get.
Apple's MacBook Pro lineup was given a refresh on Monday, bringing the new Force Touch trackpad with haptic feedback, as well as Intel's latest-generation Broadwell processors to the 13-inch MacBook Pro.
$100 in Canada. Ouch. I guess the good news it allows you to charge and use USB 3 at the same time.adapter costs $80
MBP does get the new trackpad:
