I'm look for a monitor to replace my HP MX70 monitor.
But, since I'm a graduate student (the most important is the "student" pt.), so I would not have a lot money to spend on it.
Yeah, I'm looking into so refurbished monitor lately, some of them have are having some nice price which is in my budget (which is quite low, around $200 for a 17' CRT/ 15' LCD).
Would they be any good for the refurbished monitor?
Any disadventage if I get one?
And, where can I get a good deal?

I'm not a super hardcore gamer, just into CS:S and BF2, etc.
Which low price monitor do you guys recomment?

God bless!

I've got two 17 inch Samsung's that are both connected to my computer under a dual montior setup. They are a SyncMaster 753DF and a SyncMaster 763MB (the newer of the two). I like them both, bu I don't know if either is still on the market. I saw the 793DF on newegg.com for $134 plus $25 shipping and handling. Take at look at the reviews posted there. 793DF

www.azatek.com. Plenty of refurbed monitors there. Can get a grade A refurbed 22 inch diamondtron for $199 shipped.

Ordered a refurbed IBM p260 from there a while back, 199 shipped, they sent me a p275 instead.

But what does it means by grade-A anyway?

Grading Condition Information
How you Grade products you offer?
What are 'Not Exactly New' products?
Customers return products for many reasons: a customer may change his or her mind, or not like the product, or have difficulty operating it. Whether it is returned a few month later or only the very next week, such an item must be identified as 'Not Exactly New' to be resold. These products may have been briefly used, and as a result, may show a small amount of wear and tear.

What are 'Reconditioned' products?
Reconditioned items have been inspected and are 100% functional. Unlike many other companies that just power up the monitor only! We test each monitor individually for brightness, color temperature, burn in, shadows (weak colors). We even rejuvenate the picture if necessary to bring the monitor back to original new color levels. The result is that you get a monitor which looks bright, crisp and sharp, not just a working monitor.

Grade-A
Monitor is in Great Working Condition.
No Cosmetic or Technical Defects.

Grade-B
Grade B - Monitor is in Great Condition (most vendors would sell these as "A Grade"),
Has slight Cosmetic Blemishes, examples of which are (but not limited to):
Slight Scratches in case
Slight Scratches in the screen
Hairline Crack in Case/Base
Slight Screen Burn
Slight imperfections in the AGAS (Anti-Glare, Anti-Static) Coating etc.

Grade-C
Has Major Cosmetic Blemishes,
examples of which are (but not limited to):
Major Scratches in case
Major scratches in screen
Cracked Case
Picture Color is Off
Major imperfections in the AGAS (Anti-Glare, Anti-Static) Coating
Screen Burn
Lots of Dead Pixels (4 or more)

The price you pay for a reconditioned item is much lower than at retail.

AzaTek's guarantee covers every reconditioned item you purchase.

Here is another place to check: http://www.accurateit.com/index.asp

Ordered a 17" Dell P780 Trinitron for my brother Tuesday and it arrived yesterday. Could still smell the cleaner. It works well and was made in April 2001, a few months older than my Sony G400. $79 bucks, free shipping and a free APC surge protector. These are off-lease equipment and the refurbished A looks almost new. You pay tax if you live in Ohio like I do. Very well packed in a huge box. They use only Fedex for shipping. A new trusted vendor for me.
