Is ram @ 200mhz+ worse than ram at 180 divider with tighter timings?

I have a 3400+ s754 nc.

It's watercooled around 29-33 @ 225x12 or 2.7ghz

ram is at 1:1 hyperx pc3500 2x512 3,4,4,10

Would i be better off running ram at a lower bandwidth yet tighter timings.

I ask this because, previosly I had 3000+ nc s754 and oc'd to 235x10 2.3ghz

now with same mobo, same ram and video and new oc'd 3400 Im scoring the same exact points on aquamark3 and 3dmark05

should i see a slight improvement in a few bench scores, or is 2.7 not much better than 2.35

2.7ghz will spank your 2.3 in some bemchmarks like SuperPI, but not games really. i would go with the higher MHz/looser timings because in Zebos' ram thread, the faster ram always won, but not by a ton.
hoped that helped

It should give you a boost in real games, but those benchmarkes are designed to only stress the video card, and to eliminate the CPU from the process as much as possible.

i just did some benchmarks. the ram at 240MHz 2.5-4-4-7 beat the ram at 190MHz 2-2-2-5 in every test. so there ya go.
