A lot of people say that Quicktime is bloated and refuse to install it, just like Realplayer. Is that really true? I've found it to run pretty fast, and have very good movie quality (for movie previews especially).

I've had no major problems with it in Windows, but I don't like how it behaves. When I tell everything related to quicktime not to startup with the machine, I expect it to obey until I change my mind.

^^^ Yup. I could are less about supposed features of the real Quicktime and RealPlayer. I just need something to play .mov and .rm, and the fact that its an addon to MPC is all the better.

Not just bloated but malware. I'd consider anything that, without your consent, resets file associations and piggyback installs with other apps to be malware.
