Everywhere I go I see half the people telling me that there are 51 states and that puerto rico is a state than some people say how there are 50 states and puerto rico is not a state.

Yup, just a territory.

I think that someday it will become a state, but for the moment they keep voting it down.

Ugh, I'd hate to have them become a state. It would be such a headache to setup their state government, modify our flag to reflect the additional star, and trying to teach English to all those people? Pretty hard.

They do have a flag.
So does New Zealand, but it's not a state either.

<< Yeah plus if they become a state they have to start paying taxes. >>

That is why they keep voting it down. They get to take without giving.

OMG, talk about ignorant.

They allready have a government and a flag and they don't have to be taught english, there is no offical language. Oh no, add an additional star to our flags, oh boo hoo. I think we should take your states star away for that comment.

<< I thought it was a bombing range?? >>

Vieques, is the bombing range.

You see all these protests again the NAVY, and the don't realized that once the NAVY can't practice there anymore they are going to move. That's the main reason the NAVY is there. After that, maybe they change their minds and choose to become a state.

and DaRockMan
they teach english in every school, is up to the person to really learn and not just pass the class.
